Difference between PC material and PET material
Polycarbonate (PC)
PC is a colorless, transparent, smooth and beautiful plastic. As PC non-toxic, odor-free, to prevent ultraviolet light through the performance and moisture-proof and good performance, wide temperature range, not brittle at -180 ℃, 130 ℃ environment can be long-term use, it is an ideal food Packaging Materials.
Use PC good impact resistance, easy molding characteristics, can be made into bottles, cans and various forms of containers for the packaging of beverages, alcohol, milk and other fluid substances.
PC is the biggest drawback of stress cracking. In addition to the selection of high purity raw materials in production, strict control of various processing conditions, the use of small resin stress modification, such as a small amount of polyolefin, nylon, polyester melt blending can significantly improve the resistance to stress cracking, water resistance .
PET is a crystalline, colorless, transparent, extremely tough material. A glass appearance, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, flammable, burning yellow flame with a blue edge, good air tightness.
PET's expansion coefficient is small, molding shrinkage rate is low, only 0.2%, one tenth of polyolefin, PVC and nylon smaller, so the size of the product is stable. Mechanical strength is the best, its expansion is similar to aluminum, the film strength of polyethylene 9 times, polycarbonate and nylon 3 times the impact strength of the general film 3 to 5 times. And its film has moisture and Paul Hong performance.
Although the polyester has the above advantages, but the film is more expensive, heat sealing difficulties, easy to bring static electricity, so very little use alone, mostly with good heat sealing resin coating together to form a composite film.
Biaxial stretch blow molding PET bottles, can give full play to the characteristics of PET, that has good transparency, high surface gloss, glassy appearance, is the most suitable plastic bottles instead of glass bottles.
